Virtue Value Project - The Book of Mormon

The Savior chose to live a virtuous life. Follow His admonition to “learn of me” (D&C 19:23) by reading the entire Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Liken the scriptures to your life and circumstances. As you read, record your thoughts regularly in your journal. Note the example of the Savior. What did He and those who followed Him do to live virtuous lives? At the completion of your reading, record your testimony.

“I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book” (Joseph Smith, in introduction to the Book of Mormon).

Jan 15, 2010: I am only to Chapter 4 in 1st Nephi, so I'm behind somewhat but I am so enjoying reading the Book of Mormon. I love to read how obedient Nephi was to the commandments of the Lord. He said YES whenever the Lord called upon him and he did it all with faith knowing the way would be provided. Today I caught something new. He finally reasoned with himself that the Lord put Laban in his path so that Nephi could obtain the brass plates and keep the commandment of the Lord. Nephi certainly did not want to kill Laban but finally realized the Lord wanted him to do it and even delivered Laban right into his hands.

The Lord always provides a way for us to accomplish His commandments. We just have to be willing to go and do!
